The Problem

Cybersecurity Is a Zero-Tolerance Domain

A wrong answer in a chatbot is an inconvenience. A wrong answer in a risk decision is a breach, a compliance failure, or a board-level liability event. Most security teams run 15-20+ point tools, creating a multi-tool alert noise problem that general-purpose LLMs are structurally unfit to solve.

Non-Determinism

Same input, different session, different verdict. A CVE flagged "critical" on Monday and "low severity" on Tuesday destroys analyst trust and breaks the audit trail.

Hallucination

A fabricated causal chain sends the response team to remediate the wrong system while the actual exposure stays open.

No Org-Specific Context

Generic severity scoring misranks a "critical" CVE on a decommissioned dev box above a "medium" CVE on the production payments system.

Unexplainable Outputs

"The model said so" is not defensible under SOC 2, ISO 27001, or any regulatory audit - undermining the entire compliance value proposition.

The Gap

Why Today's Mitigations Don't Close the Gap

Every technique below operates around a general-purpose model - constraining its inputs, filtering its outputs, or averaging its variance - without touching the mechanism underneath.

Fine-tuning

Still a stochastic, autoregressive predictor at inference. More likely to be right - not structurally incapable of being wrong.

Prompt Engineering

Constrains the request, not the reasoning process. A prompt that works on 95% of inputs fails unpredictably on the other 5% - with no way to know which 5% in advance.

RAG

Improves the odds of a grounded answer but does not guarantee one. The model can still ignore retrieved context or hallucinate details not present in any retrieved document.

Output Guardrails

Filters known failure patterns after generation, not before. Catches what it was built to catch and misses novel failure modes.

Self-Consistency / Ensembling

Reduces variance but not bias. If the underlying model is systematically wrong, voting across correlated failures produces a confident wrong answer.

Human-in-the-Loop

Genuinely reduces risk, but does not scale to alert volumes. The tool becomes a suggestion engine an expert must re-verify every time.

The Solution

A Neuro-Symbolic Architecture Built for Cyber

Satark's architecture introduces determinism, grounding, and auditability at the reasoning process level - not as compensating layers bolted onto a transformer's autoregressive core. Evaluated against C3AN, a peer-reviewed 4th-generation AI framework.

CustomDomain-specific by design

Purpose-built for cyber risk decisions. Compliance frameworks - NIST SP 800-53, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, SOC 2, HIPAA, DPDP - are native to the system, not layered on. Signals correlated across code, cloud, network, identity, and data layers.

CompactSub-30B parameters

Deployable on-prem without heavy GPU infrastructure. Real (not paper) compliance with data-localization regimes - India's DPDP Act, defence/BFSI mandates, GCC sovereignty rules - since telemetry never leaves customer infrastructure.

CompositeModular orchestration

A single model with internally separated neural and symbolic components. Consistent, staged reasoning within one deployable unit - no fragile multi-model pipelines.

NeurosymbolicHybrid reasoning

Neural perception meets symbolic logic. Determinism, grounding, and auditability are properties of how the system reasons - not add-on layers. Every decision comes with an inspectable reasoning trace.

Benchmarks

Beats Frontier Models

Satark's sub-30B model is evaluated against Claude Opus 5.0, GPT-5.6 Sol, and Kimi K3 on four C3AN dimensions: Reliability, Consistency, Abstraction, and Grounding.

Architecture Ablation (Section 5a): Performance gains come from design, not the underlying model. The neuro-symbolic architecture outperforms the same base model without symbolic components - proving the architecture itself is the differentiator.

Scale Comparison (Section 5b): Satark's sub-30B system matches or beats frontier, multi-billion-to-trillion-parameter LLMs on the same cybersecurity evaluation. Evaluated on Reliability, Consistency, Abstraction, and Grounding dimensions of the C3AN framework.

Data Sovereignty

Your Telemetry Never Leaves Your Infrastructure

A compact, deterministic, on-prem-deployable architecture is a sovereignty play. Nations and regulated enterprises can run cyber intelligence without routing sensitive telemetry through foreign-hosted frontier models.

  • Determinism and auditability → sovereign-grade accountability. Reproducible outputs, traceable to source evidence
  • Defence & BFSI mandates
  • GCC sovereignty rules
  • Air-gapped deployment support
